Sabeel is a prayer-times display: prayer times, a live qibla compass,
adhan notifications, a Hijri calendar, Hadith of the Day, and a Qur'an
player. This page covers the most common questions.
Prayer times or qibla look wrong
Open Settings → Location in the app and confirm it
has your correct location — either device GPS or a manually entered
place name.
Check Settings → Method — different calculation
methods (Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Karachi)
and Asr schools (Shafi'i vs. Hanafi) can shift times by several
minutes; pick the one your local mosque uses.
You can nudge any individual prayer's time to match your local
mosque from that prayer's own settings.
No sound at prayer time
Every prayer is silent by default until you assign it a sound —
open a prayer tile and pick one, or record your own voice.
Check the device isn't in silent mode / Do Not Disturb, and that
Sabeel has notification permission in iOS
Settings → Notifications → Sabeel.
Qibla compass has no live needle
A live needle needs a magnetometer-equipped device. If yours doesn't
have one, Sabeel still shows the correct numeric bearing to face.
Display behavior between prayers
Settings → Power Saver controls this: "Dim Between
Prayers" keeps the display on at a low brightness and brightens
automatically around each adhan; "Sleep Between Prayers" lets the
device sleep on its own schedule instead, and the adhan notification
itself wakes it.
